COURSE OF B.SC NAUTICAL SCIENCE

Eligibility

Pass in HSC/ISC (10+2) with mathematics, physics and chemistry with a PCM average of not less than 60% also should obtain 50% in English either in 10th or 12th Std Exam. Candidates are selected as per DGS Guide Lines.

Age Limit

Age limit on the date of commencement of course: Minimum 17 years and maximum 25 years on the date of commencement of course.

Physical Standards

All candidates should be physical fit for the sea service. As per M.S (Medical Examination for seafarers) Rules 2000 as amended from time to time. Also, final selection will be subject to medical fitness as per DGS Guide Lines.

COURSE FOR STCW

Jeyanthinathar Academy Marine Studies offers STCW Courses (DG Shipping Approved). According to IMO convention on standards of training certification and watch keeping of seafarers adopted a new set of amendments in Manila in 2010 called "The Manila Amendments:. These Amendments were necessary to keep training standards in line with new technological and operational requirements that require new shipboard competencies. The manila amendments were effective as of 1 January 2012.
